Dodoni

Dodoni was considered the oldest Greek oracle




Dodoni is a village and a municipality in the Ioannina regional unit, Epirus, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the village Agia Kyriaki. Dodoni is located near the site of the ancient oracle of Dodona.
The name is a dialectic form of Dodone, in Epirus, near Ioannina at the foot
of Mount Tomaros, or Tmaros, the present Olitsika.

The Theater
The theater of Dodona is the largest in the country. Bears the seal of King Pyrros. Revealed by Sotiris Dakaris who along with his team proceeded to restoration. The theater  lately remains closed,  and requests of all people  in the region, is the immediate completion of the works, so that it will  be in use again, soon.


The Oracle
The establishment of the oracle of Dodona, lost in prehistory. The traditions that accompany it are numerous and in most starring Peleiades, priestesses and Selli, priests.
